I am separated from my husband and he wants to sign the house over to me. How is this done and what is the cheapest way of this being done. Also, if/when we devorce can he make a claim to the property if he should change his mind about me owning the property.

It is advisable to have a lawyer complete the process in order to make certain it is watertight. If a proper handover takes place then any adult is committed from the point of signature onward and there will be no turning back without the other party's consent and full co-operation. It costs you to have a lawyer clap eyes on you but the process you are contemplating is relatively cheap in lawyer's terms, a snip at perhaps �1000 but it is possible that it will be suggested that two independent ones may have to be involved to avoid accusation of a conflict of interests (seek advice, but be aware that opinions can be diametrically opposed - that's lawyers for you) - if upheld this could conceivably nullify the agreement or at least lead to serious dispute if a challenge is mounted.
