My partner and I bought my son a smartphone which I will send to him. It was bought in my partner's name and the monthly payments will be paid out of our bank account.
When my son registers the phone/SIM etc. does he need my partner's details or are they irrelevant now that the shop has sent it and it now belongs to my son. Can he put in his own DOB, surname and email address? Thanks. It's a while since I've done this.
Yes he can use all his details. That is the details for who is using the phone, which is irrelevant to who is paying for it. I believe some phone companies can set a limit on how much a monthly bill can be so maybe contact them and ask them to set a limit, or let you know when it goes above a certain monthly amount.

Beware if you haven't got some sort of provision in place to limit the bills for it's use .
A friend of mine found himself on the wrong side of a £ 500 month bill , when he and his wife bought their granddaughter a phone , with the payments coming out of their account

I get unlimted texts and calls on mine....just watch out for data allowance. Mines a works phone so switched most of my data allowance to him for no extra charge.
Thanks, ummmm. His calls and texts have a generous allowance and he lives and works in a wi-fi area, so shouldn't be a problem. Must remember to keep an eye on the bill, though.
