Jeremy Vine is on the radio talking to people about electric blankets. Just wondered how many people actually use them and love them. Personally, I hate getting into a warm bed and never have trouble getting warmed up. I also don't like a warm bedroom. Trivial question really!!

On the Vine show, he said that they were like Marmite - you either love them or you hate them. I hate them!! Getting into a warm bed doesn't appeal to me, unless the warmth was created by Daniel Craig!!
I'd be willing if Daniel Craig or Sean Bean were there Lofty!

Naz - please take my knickers off, they really don't suit you. And I'll have a glass of wine now please.
Your wish is my command ... want cake too?
i was reading somewhere that the reason a hot bath before bed help you sleep is that your body starts to feel sleepy as it cools down, not because you feel all warm and snuggly. so you have a hot bath and then get out and start to cool down, and that's why it's more condusive to sleep to have a cool, unheated bedroom.
Me too ummmm, Love it. But then I am a little bit older than some & am feeling the cold a bit more.

I used to have an electric blanket that went under the bed sheet and I'd put it on the lowest setting about an hour before I got into bed. I haven't used it since pregnancy last year. I've also got a higher tog duvet which helps. I hate the cold but I can't stand wearing anything in bed either. Oh and I hate having the windows open in my bedroom, even in summer as I get a lot of noise coming in.
I have an electric underblanket and I only use it when I go to bed alone and I wouldn't be without it.
had mine for years :) Hubby puts it on half an hour before I go to bed (I am officially the coldest person ever!) and its all toasty warm and lovely when I go in. Amazing, and one of the best practical things I have ever bought.
if i slept in the heat id wake up with a headache. Heating always goes off early. When i got up last week i had a headache and a txt off my bloke saying 'i put the heating on so you wernt cold when you got up'
4get, I thought that was only me - sleep hot = headache in the morning. We have only a small radiator in the bedroom, we warm up after a few minutes under the duvet, no need for an electric blanket - the last time I used one was about 20 years ago.
Mrs JtH, being part Shetland Pony, rarely feels the cold but I have prevailed and we took delivery of our first electric blanket a week ago.

I usually read for a while before I'm ready to settle down and sleep but have reached the point where my eyes are crossing within 2 or so pages because I'm so snuggly and warm. I also find it soothing on my back which I think clinched the argument for me ! :o)
barmaid does your cats sleep in your bed?

Charmer, yes, they sometimes do. Very often i wake up and there are at least 3 cats in various positions with me teetering on the last 6 inches at the edge. Neither of us have the heart to throw them out though.

Naz - yes please. AFter I have done you smelly mince chilli.

I am considering buying an electric blanket. I have a memory foam topper on top of the mattress so is it it safe to place electric blanket on top of the memory foam.
