wot does this sentence mean?...'Marketshare is a zero-sum game!'. if possible can neone tell me what this might mean? thanks!

I'll go out on a limb and say that it's a nonsensical statement. If anything, market share is a 100% game, in that all the market shares in any market must add up to 100%. At best, the statement seems to express the obvious - that if one company's market share goes up, another's must come down. But most serious major companies (eg supermarkets) would regard trying to increase their market share as far from a game, but as an almost life and death struggle.
