So does that end the minimum wage scheme? I suppose it does.
Also, people on benefits, will their benefits be adjusted to absorb that extra income for those currently on a wage less than £7.20? or will they actually be better off?
Osborne never made any of this clear when he announced this so-called "Living Wage" was announced. Another anomaly is why this new rate doesn't apply to people aged 24 and under ?

The minimum wage scheme remains in place for the under 25's and those on apprenticeships. Just as we had begun to slight awareness of ageism in the workplace and along this comes to put us back a decade.
