It’s 6.15, and I have just seen a finch flying and hopping round the rafters of my garage.
The light has been on since about 4, so he must have flown in shortly after that.
If he finds his way out now, will he be O.K. in the dark, or should I close the door and open when it’s daylight tomorrow?

That's a lovely story, Clarion. Well done to you.

Did the mice move in?

Mice are a flippin' nuisance in the garage. It's amazing what they chew through! Plastic bags, gardening gloves, wicker baskets!

He’s out of the garage, but just sitting on the drive. Do you think he’ll make it home in the dark? I do hope so.
I’m pretty sure it’s a finch, but not sure which type. He has red on his face, with a light body and some darker parts on the wings and tail.

He sat on the drive for a while, then next time I looked he was gone.
