Plumbers are like gold dust - you have to wait for weeks to get a decent one to do a job - my guess is that you could almost charge what you liked because people will pay - certainly in our area anyway. Heard a report on the radio last year about plumbers down South being able to charge around 80 an hour because they are in such short supply - don't know how true this is. Good luck.
I would seriously think about taking a driving test. I live in the South West of England (approx. 100 miles from London) and if you lived anywhere near me you could be a very very rich man. The problem you have is that, whilst not driving, you are going to be someone's employee and they will pay you a set hourly rate (which could be as little as 10). Even if you worked on new builds self employed, where would you keep your tools if you had no vehicle? Learn to drive, get a van and go it alone. Banks will be falling over themselves to get a self employed plumber up and running. Good luck
Ever thought of working offshore?
There is a shortage of trades in the offshore industry and often employers would be willing to put you through your offshore survival. this would not involve any driving as you would travel to your destination by train and taxi
Worth traing some of the oil service companies like Wood Group, Amec, Kellogg Brown & Root etc
