Funny you should ask that - I was actually walking around the Mersey TV Brookside set the other day.
The houses have now been totally stripped of all the TV paraphernalia, and the entire close has been bough by a housing company. They are all being totally renovated and will consist of 3 and 4 bedroom properties.
They are likely to attract a lot of interest from fans, and the company intend putting plaques detailing which characters used to live in each house over the years.
The alleyway is still there, which the actors used to walk down and then emerge by the shops (in reality this is another Mersey TV set some 6 miles away in Childwall).
The close is really fascinating and the changing rooms and toilets/showers the cast used to use are still intact.
