Thanks to all but now have a problem with 8 down. To this forest climber going up is something hard on a digit. I had liana but now it is L-A-E.

To be fair, I wasn't the first with the answer but thank you.
my answer was off the cuff! uhm, Vill(a) does sound right.

Just a thought that 'new' country house could mean 'not quite finished'.
as opposed to old country house.
