you've grown out of it. People's tastes change. In some cases it's literally that their taste buds develop but in others it's just that they get tired of the same old thing. You also lose a bit of energy as you get older. Then again, you can savour life more when you're sober, at least imho.

You can come to the pub with me any day!

:o)

Hi inej, I think you have just matured a bit faster than some of your friends, your body tells you when to ease back a bit you don't have to reach for the Horlicks and tv guide, yet,you will probably enjoy a night out more than before cos I think when your a bit younger it is a habit more than anything else,we all go through it some never grow out of it,there the sad ones.
I used to have the same problem with my so called friends. Everything had to evolve around drink and going out and slowly but surely the true friends who saw that you can have fun doing other things too sticked around and the others just weren't worth it. Then I've gained a load of other friends who are more mature and we all do lots of other things that doesn't always involve drink or wine bars

hi,dont worry about what your friends think, you have had your fun over the years and its time to settle for that nice quite pub and your not on your own ,i also like the village pub, night clubs etc are to roudy for me plus you cant relax because your always looking over your shoulder for when the next fight is going to break out.im 38 now and have like the quite pub since i was 28 so dont worry and no your not boaring.bye for now.

I have never been a lover of nightclubs. Went to a few in my teens and twenties but didn't feel happy there. Interestingly enough, my twenty-something son and his girlfriend are very similar.

I think your dislike of them indicates that you are capable of finding or making alternative entertainment. Drinking and dancing to loud music and pulling shallow- and one-track-minded individuals of the opposite (or same) sex is boring for you because it's easy. You don't have to think too much.

When you go to that relaxing pub, there's often the chance to make proper conversation, eat decent food and listen to decent music properly. Pubs are frequented by different types of people - there's always someone interesting to listen to, talk to or talk about, unlike nightclubs where everyone's on the same level and it's ... well ... pretty boring, really.

Hi, Was I glad to read this post, I could have written this myself, I am a similar age to you.

You are not boring, you have just changed and your priorities and things you do for enjoyment have changed with you.

From 18 to about 28 I was out every Fri & Sat and could think of nothing worse than being in the house on a weekend, now the thought of a cosy night in, or the pictures or a meal is all that keeps me going till the weekend comes round.

Most of my friends are also like me, however I do have one as you describe that can only ever suggest a night on the town, it just doesn't do it for me anymore. As a result I dont see that friend much now.

You do what makes you happy.
