Has anyone got / or know someone who has / or knows about the Motorolla G - 2015 - 16GB, 2GB RAM, mobile phone .

1.It's supposed to 'awake' and go into standby when you pick the phone up
However mine isn't doing that . Is this a hit and miss feature ?

2. Is there anyway of adjusting the length of time it remains in standby
mode , before it goes back into 'sleep' mode ?

i dont have this on my moto g2 5.2 android as far as stand by goes i setthis display to go off at 2 mins
Question Author
I can set mine to switch off after a certain period of inactivity, as well

What i'm saying is that when you pick it up after it has switched itself off : it is supposed to 'awake' automatically , showing limited information on the screen without you having to operate the on/off switch
mine doesn't i have to press the power button to get screen back on

Is your's the 3rd generation - 2015 model ?
sorry actually mine does it's does its in display settings called "ambient"
2nd and on lollipop 5.2
Question Author
Yes , that's the feature .

The same publication in their Dec 2015 review also mentions it , so it has made it to the 2015 model

//The active display feature is one part that's a little out of the ordinary. It's a toned-down version of the always-on display of the Moto X, which shows the time and other bits of info on-screen while the phone is in standby.

In the Moto G it turns part of the screen on when you get a notification and when you pick it up (most of the time, anyway). It gives you a brief glance at what's going on with your phone without needing to bring it out of standby. Plus it gives you the time //

This feature on mine does not work at all - so i'm wondering if it's a fault on the phone .

as it says on the link "In the Moto G it turns part of the screen on when you get a notification and when you pick it up (most of the time, anyway). It gives you a brief glance at what's going on with your phone without needing to bring it out of standby. Plus it gives you the time."
...."most of time" so something amiss, maybe yours is working ok like mine it lights up when a call received so far its not worked when just picked up
