I posted a Q about divorce, and it reminded me why son 2 never went through with it 5 years ago.
It seems from what the solicitor told him at the time.... it's ok for gay people to marry in law, yet infidelity with a same sex partner is not grounds for divorce. (Son's wife went off with another woman.)
Strikes me as very unbalanced behaviour on the law's part.

The marriage didnt work out - the parties have to move on with their lives
The then Athbishop of Canterbury did not oppose reforms for the latest bout on the grounds that all FIVE of his children were divorced.... cant remember which one it was . Benson ( another atchbishop ) had five kids NONE of whom married .

Divorce is always very difficult, ferlew. I hope your son is happier now
I think in time the law will change to bring same sex relationships in to adultery. It has to now that same sex marriages are legal - the grounds for divorce must be equal across the board. It would be a strange thing if a married lesbian couldn't divorce her wife on grounds of adultery because she'd had an affair with a woman yet she can if her wife has an affair with a man. An interesting point of law, so thank you for raising it.
