following on from the earlier behavioural question does any one feel shy or act cocky or proud or get embarrased when they are in the comfort of their own home on the Answerbank.

Interesting question - personally, I try very hard for my replies on answerbank to accurately reflect my personality and nature.

I haven't yet had the opportunity to act cocky, be proud or embarrased on AB. I do feel frustrated by certain attitudes and replies but avoid getting involved - unless I have to [see a particularly idiotic reply to my maestro advert question].

I find the great asset of posting is the chance to appear as intelligent and errudite as possible - and I do try!

I always try to be as honest and open as possible when posting questions and/or answers. Unfortunately, I am occassionally not 'brave' enough to say what I really feel.

I can't see how anyone could feel shy sitting alone at a computer and how petty minded would you have to be to feel cocky just cause you can answer a question on here (Mind you, I have noticed a recent trend to not crediting the original answerers of many multiple questions). The main feeling I get these days when I visit the site is one of tedium.....it used to be an exciting forum for worthwhile discussion and some very interesting questions....now the site has been allowed to be swamped with trashy magazine quiz questions and fireside quizzes.

Proud I can accept.....there are a few regulars left who have something to be proud of in the depth of their knowledge and unstinting helpfulness.

The shyness thing was the most important trait I wanted to explore as I wondered wether people would still feel shy trying to get their point accross or upset if someone had a go at them. It just goes to show from your answers that the way we act is governed by our standing in a group and not as individuals on our own but is the way you act when you are alone your true self or is it when you are amongst people.thanks for your answers anyway.
