Raspberry vinegar

I have found a recipe in a cook book (not a very helpful one) which says I can make raspberry vinegar by macerating fresh raspberries in wine vinegar. I've managed to find out what macerate means but I don't know how long to leave the fruit in for. Ant ideas out there? Thanks in advance for your help.

The longer you leave the fruit the more flavour can be achieved, and you can use fresh or frozen fruit - fresh is likely to be bteer in the long run. Leave the fruit whole, soak and strain. Vinegar will of course keep for along time in sealed bottles/jars. Reduce by boiling for a more intense flavour and serve over ice cream, or with game, and use as vinagrette.
