An Asian couple sat at a table near to me and, as Mum was getting their toddler settled into a high chair, Dad headed off to order their food, asking Mum what she fancied as he did so.
"Oh, I'll have the fish and chips, please" was the reply from Asian Mum, as I sat there tucking into my chicken tikka.
It were never like that when I were a lad, sithee!

Not unlike Chris' situation, I recently found myself explaining the differences in Sushi made in one of our local grocery stores to an obviously Japanese young man who explained he had lived here in the U.S. his entire life and never tried it... Hope he enjoyed his Crispy California roll... not traditional but still tasty, especially with a whiff (not a shout) of the shop's freshly made Wasabi...
