Can I buy duty free at Heathrow and take it through JFK to Fort Myers? Not especially alcohol but perfume or make up?

You can take as hand luggage to JFK but after that you would go through security again. You need to get your main bag a JFK and pack the duty free in there and recheck the bag, don't know if that's possible

you have to clear your luggage at JFK as that's the entry point into the States....so you will have the opportunity to repack it with what you have bought.

We will have checked luggage from uk to fort Myers so won't see our bags until we arrive in Florida. Wondered if you could take items in hand baggage if they were still sealed and with a receipt?
