or have I just become cynical about relationships?
My last partner left me 4 years ago when I was going through a bad time with mental health issues. It devastated me at the time. Since then, ive got my life back together again. (and the support of people on here at the time when I was going through the mill with the courts, psych services etc was invaluable). Now ive got more of a social life than ive ever had...im in a quiz team, a reading group, a film group, I spend more time with my mates than I ever did. I have the freedom to go out whenever I want, watch whatever I want, get drunk if I want, spend all night with my nose stuck in a book if I want.
Ive often thought it would be nice to have a bit of female company again... someone to spoil, make love to, go out with... but in no rush to go looking.
However, for the last couple of months theres been a female ive started to become close to at a group I attend. She makes a bee line for me, always wants to sit with me and always waits for me to walk to the bus stop with etc.
(must be the pheromones, certainly isnt my looks lol) I might be reading in to this but the point is its freaking me out a bit and making me think that either Ive just become set in my ways now and dont want the hassle of a relationship or im just cynical of relationships.
Anyone else here happy been single?
Thanks

Nailit...you don't really have to be single....OR...in a relationship....

You can have a female friend to date, holiday with, spoil....etc...and still have your own life.....as long a she wants the same and you agree at the outset........be happy.....xx

Exactly....

//No spark then?//
Not saying theres no spark Psibbs, there is. Im just saying that Im wary and maybe ive become a little selfish. Ive worked hard the last few years to get my life back and im a little loathe to rock my boat.

I like your take on it Gness.

Very true, Divebuddy.

Best answer has got to be a toss up between Togo and DB...
After losing 2 houses including the furniture, a wealthy friend of mine has given up dating women. He's grown very cynical after being stitched up more than once by the gold diggers. If he did go out on a date he used to borrow my car so the woman wouldn't get the wrong 'idea'.
He's now a confirmed bachelor and if he wants his 'legover' he goes and pays for an escort...it's cheaper than losing a house!
Question Author
Ive found that if I want 'legover' its even cheaper to just have a ham shank.
If there is some chemistry, Nailit, go for it, you have nothing to lose
