Does anyone have any dealings with this company? It seems they cold called my 81 year old mother who lives alone, and persuaded her to buy a callblocking device. She has no memory of the call although she wrote brief details down. I've checked her bank account and £99.99 has gone out to 'Met Technologies'. I also have a phone number for 'Callblocker Services', but have chosen to send a email to Met technologies (the box that appeared came with no packaging other than the plain white box it came in) asking if they cold called her and saying the box is not fit for purpose.
It's very uncharacteristic of my mother to give out bank details over the phone, and I'm very angry that she's been taken advantage of. If anyone else has experience or advice I'd be pleased to hear it, thanks.
Call Blocker Services seems to be operating from a private address in Bognor Regis. (5 Lucking Lane, Bognor Regis, PO22 6HP). That information is based upon the registration data for the firm's (now out-of-date) web domain: http://www.nominet.uk/whois/?query=callblockerservices.co.uk#whois-results The guy running it appears to be Shaun Robert...

The guy running it appears to be Shaun Robert Matthews. That's based upon his former directorship of a dissolved company called SafeguardUK Ltd:

(Interestingly, the nature of that business was listed as 'Activities of call centres').
Probably not a lot of point, TWR, as there's no clear evidence of fraudulent activity at this stage. In my opinion, Trading Standards would be better placed to look into the matter.
Taich, good advice by Chico but if can prove your Mum has been harassed into signing up I would take this further, a way to prove, these company's as a rule start their conversation by saying, " For Training purposes, this phone call will be recorded" worth thinking about I know I would.
Thanks Buenchico. I'm not sure where we stand, as she must have actually given her card details to them though she has no memory of it. She can't remember how she got the box - the only way is either the postman handed it to her or possibly it was delivered through the catflap. She has no idea how to use the box, and reading through the badly translated manual, I think I d struggle myself even though I'm reasonably tech savvy. If she gave her card details does that mean she consented to getting the device?
I'll look into your links thanks, if I don't get any answer from Met Technologies.
This has just happened to my 80 year old father-in-law who has alzheimer's and I cannot believe they are getting away with this! Could I kindly ask what the outcome was for you?
