Reading this it all seems a bit subjective. I have been practising knife throwing for some time and would like to attend an event for practice and demonstrations but I don't want to get arrested for carrying deadly weapons.

thanks all, douglas, I'm a bit puzzled by your answer at 19:23
Have you thought of writing to the police and asking them? If you write they should write back and then you can carry the letter with you whenever you wish to transport your knives.
Apologies Tora, I meant Rotherham.
// This chat about within cars is all well and good but what about within tent? Why are campers always for the high jump? //

no no surely " why are campers always cut off in their prime ? "

- usual rules - in the kitchen tent OK under your pillow less OK

well OK what about the kitchen ?
and no one has spoken about the related crime of
being in possession of an offensive wife

I mean jesus have you heard the mouths on some of them ?
PP, unless your car is on private land, it is considered to be a public place.

// However, you are allowed to discuss mens rea...// Shooter.

or intention if you speak english
Is sufficient intention or mens rea - knowing you have it ?
or do you have to have an intention to do harm ?
leading case is R v Simpson 1983

and there really is someone who said - I didnt know I had this - I lebt it to my brother and havent worn it since ....
so... for this offence can you possess something you dont know you have ?

contributors to this thead find this kind of question more compelling than reading todays mush from AOG - or andie hughes for that matter

hc
thx that is really clear ....

much clearer than the sites I have been wading thro

and does explain the incident where I took a knife off a guy ( who was trying to use it ) and the police took the view that I was in possession of the knife - even tho a passerby said what this man has done is to take a knife .....
