As usual, one of Mudd's crossword's has made me grumpy. Does anyone know how to contact the FT crossword editor to ask her/him to stop publishing Mudd & GAFF crosswords on a Saturday and give us more Rosa Klebbs instead?
Anyway, down to the business in hand:

MUDD is John Halpern, who also sets for The Guardian as PAUL, and The Independent as PUNK. I'm not keen on his crosswords either, Dominique - they make me groan rather than smile!

I guessed record -the tick sort of works as you record something in a tick box exercise. If you can get a gold record I guessed you can get a silver one, Total nonsense of course.
I don't mind Mudd -I didn't like the Gaff Valentine Crossword but his other ones have been ok.
