I have an upright f/f (Samsung RL34) which is pooling ice at the bottom of the freezer compartment. It's then leaking past a seal, warming up as it meets room temperature and polls as water on the kitchen floor. I presume that this means that the freezer compartment seal has gone, but does the until pooling of water turning to ice in the bottom of the freezer indicate anything else please? The f/f was bought from Comet in August 2011, so there should be plenty of life left in it.
If its one of those frost free freezers every so often it defrosts and the melted ice is supposed to drain into a pan underneath the freezer and eventually evaporate I would suspect the drain pipe for this is blocked (probably ice)and the water is pooling at the bottom and the pipe needs cleaning out
