Hi all, wondering if anyone could help me work something out.
Is there a way of working out how long a tank full of water would last as steam? Say 350ml of water, and a rate of 40g/min, how long would that tank provide steam for, is there a way to calculate, I know you get more steam from water.

Typical over-thinking, on my part. Cloverjo's reply was not there when I started typing but she is right.
350/40 is 8.75 minutes.
The only think I can add is that you can't really 'weigh' steam. All you can do is feed it through a condenser and weigh the resultant water.
350ml is about the size of a cola can. Is this an industrial-scale device?

I think that adamhornsby has/is looking at getting an ironing system which has a 350ml water tank and the water is converted to steam at the rate of 40g/min = 40ml/min and wants to know how long the tank will last. If that is the case then Hypognosis is correct at 8.75 mins BUT it is unlikely that the steam will be used continuously so, in reality, it will last longer than that in terms of clock-on-the-wall time ie, the tank might need to refilled say every 30 mins, depending on how continuous the use is.
