We had a delivery this morning of a 48" smart led tv. Lucky me! Thing is it isn't ours, we didn't order it. We are expecting a delivery of a similar size albeit not expected until tomorrow or Tuesday, which is why my half asleep son took it in without question. It wasn't until I looked at the box that I realised it wasn't ours. The thing is the van that delivered it was unmarked the driver had no uniform, didn't ask for a signature and he was long gone before I noticed the error. I have scoured the box for a clue but all I can find is one label with some handwritten numbers, some sort of code which is of no use to me.
We've checked the tracking for our item and its not yet out for delivery so it's not like we got the TV and someone else got our parcel.
Someone is missing a very large TV and they probably paid extra to get it delivered on a Sunday, so no doubt they are very annoyed by now.
We just don't know what to do with it.
I did ask if it was a surprise Mother's Day gift but apparently not and I should be grateful (and I am) for the flowers and chocolates.
I've been hoping the driver might realise his mistake and come back but i don't think that's going to happen now. I've not wanted to open it as it isn't mine but I think I might have to.
We've no idea who delivered it, as I said it was a plain white van. And no I haven't ordered a TV Retro, although OH was getting paranoid that maybe he'd ordered it by mistake (we've checked, he hadn't).
I am waiting on delivery of a flat packed item that will probably be about the same size hence why my son accepted this without really looking at the box.
We've now checked in the box and there is no documentation at all, it's a total mystery.
Just a long shot but do you do competitions? I do and have had some very nice surprise gifts over the years, many don't put anything in the parcel as they are sent from the manufacturer.
"Television, what television, Mr Courrier-Driver. I know nowt about that. Have you tried that Mrs Smythson at number 56 as she can be a bit of a klepto?"
We will have to find somewhere to keep it and hope The driver remembers where he delivered it. It is odd that there are no labels or anything at all to identify the carrier or the correct address it was supposed to be delivered to.
