Thanks mamya. I don`t think it`s that though. It is 23cm in length and the little spade shaped part is 3 cm wide. I would think it is pretty old - maybe 100 years as it probably came from my Grandfather`s farm.
Thanks for the further replies. I remember the landlord in our pub used to buy a massive stilton and pour port into it in the run up to Christmas. The spoon would be quite useful with one of those. I might keep it - even if only to dip into those little china stilton pots that are on sale at Christmas.
I had images of it getting twisted out of shape through years of use. :-(
For something that takes up so little space I'd keep it even if it only saw the light of day once a year. I find something quite satisfying about using heirlooms.
