Hi can I ask you know if you send a Facebook request to add someone as a friend, if they don't accept how do you know. If you know what I mean.

I think it works like this - You will be notified if they decline, but not if they ignore it (it then just remains in their outstanding requests).

I don't think you'll get a notification if they see the request and ignore/decline it.
You'll only get a notification if they accept your friend request.
