Had Mr Fabricant not offered up an apology it appears Mr Bercow would have let it go!

Is it acceptable, therefore, to use inappropriate language in some circumstances to press home one's point?

it's the only thing that will keep us engaged for another 4 months of this anaemic sshyte that makes up reasoned debate in this country - and it will come from either side and from within for both the Brexxies and the Remain-Ins, intensifying as we approach R day.

A complete waste of money, time and mediocrity when we should be concentrating on building our economy and steering things politically our way.

I begin to despair of sensible arguments (from both sides) being put forward for open debate. So far, it is hysterical fearmongering and equivalent rubbishing. :(

Was it inappropriate ? Passionate, and perhaps not very persuasive, but some subjects result in high emotion especially when one believes an opponent is lying and one has no opportunity to state that opinion directly. My opinion of folk drops much further if they use childish insults like, "potty mouth", than if they call, "***", where it's found.

Fabricant should have kept his hair on and counter slowly to ten before saying anything. Maybe the speaker didn't hear him.

Like the hair comment! Thing is Sandy, the Speaker heard the comment and wouldn't have acted if Fabricant hadn't apologised!

I think Mr Speaker should have sanctioned the Honourable gentleman immediately.

If Mr Speaker hears un-parliamentary language from where he sits, then other Honourable Members of the House, and the TV microphones hear it as well.

The idea of 'not drawing attention to it ...' is ludicrous, that is what Mr Speaker is there for!!
