I have just had a horrible allergic reaction to ........something.

I went to my friend's for a cup of tea and a chat and afterwards went shopping. On my way home, in the car, my forehead started to itch and by the time I got home my forehead was covered with red wheals. Then, my arms started to itch and weals began appearing on my arms. By the time I got through the door, I was almost screaming with irritation. I dropped the shopping, took an antihistamine tablet and jumped in the shower. Mr T thought I'd gone bonkers.

It's all calmed down now all my clothes are in the washing basket and dinner is cooking. I feel a bit sleepy though.

PS. I'm allergic to Lidl! Or, it's my new Max Factor foundation. Who knows?

Hi tilly xx take care. You don't want to come into contact with whatever it was again. The next reaction might be worse xx

The trouble is, Pixie, I don't actually know what it was. I felt that it was in my hair, whatever it was. I wonder if there's any pollen about?
Tilly if you are allergic to tree pollen, the following trees can be nasty for you in March. Hazel, Yew, Alder, Elm, Willow, Poplar, and Birch. There is a little graph showing the times of tree pollen for different trees in the link below.

good to hear that you are alive and kicking, Tilly, if a little fragile. Amazing what gin does......???
Question Author
Thanks, Togo. It's definitely something in the 'hair'.

DTC, no gin. Mothers' ruin isn't it? Nice with a tonic and lemon slice though.

Only Elderflower cordial for me, in the week.
I like it with lime...and cold.

Could well be pollen; well worth exploring that one......I wonder if elderflower falls into the allergenic camp?
Question Author
Not Elderflower, DTC. That came after the reaction. Elderflower cordial is not to blame.

I will not find out what it is or was. That's why I always have a supply of cetirizine antihistamine in the house. This has happened to me on a regular basis.
just teasing about the elderflower, cordial that this is as a drink......it may take a specialist to find out - or a direct incident where you can identify what comes in contact with you and causes the discomfort....... x
Tilly if you have had this sort of event before it may be worth you getting a proper allergy test done.
