I have chair covers which I regularly take to the dry cleaners.

As I am paying upwards of £ 15 each for them to be dry cleaned I'm
wondering if I could not put them in my normal wash?
What is the worst that could happen?

They shrink
I always put my sofa covers on a 40 wash in my machine. Dry on the line outside. No probs

Thanks. I'll try them on the 40 wash.
What are the covers made of?
Oh I'd just bang them in the washing machine on a cool wash. As you say...what's the worst that can happen? Good luck
the worst that can happen is that they will no longer fit your chairs and you will need to shell out for new ones.....
What does it say on the label?
I always wash mine in the machine, on a very hot summers day, they are dry and back on the sofa the following day, make sure they are cotton though or a washable fabric. try 30 degrees the first time, otherwise 40 if very grubby.
