Can I Be Forgiven For This?

As most of you know, my stays in hospital are never incident free.
Since breaking my neck, my hands seem to have developed a mind of their own. For example, this morning I was reading a text on my mobile when my right hand suddenly tossed the phone 6ft into the air. Fortunately it landed on my lap.
During my recent stay in hospital I was happily eating my porridge for breakfast when I suddenly hurled the spoon (full of porridge). It landed smack on top of the head of the patient in the next bed. Fortunately she had dementia and didn't appear to notice. I hopped out of bed to retrieve the spoon and grabbed some paper towels on the way. I removed the spoon and then set about wiping off the porridge. How was I to know she was wearing a wig? I nearly died when it came off in my hands. I honestly tried to clean off the porridge, which by now was cold and congealed. All I succeeded in doing was smearing it all over the wig. At this point I gave up and hearing a nurse approaching, I plonked the wig somewhat askew back on her head and got back into bed.
When the nurse saw her, she remonstrated with her for rubbing porridge on her head, and this was despite the fact the old dear was having toast for breakfast!
Should I have 'fessed up?
