What Update W10?

There was an answer about the windows update number that allowed them to 'nag' you to sign up to Windows 10.
I removed that up date as I do not want W10, now they have put it back on and the W10 icon is back. Anyone know what No it was so I can remove it again, or it there a better way to stay on W7?

It is recommended that you try something called GWX Control Panel. It appears to be a bit of software that deals with start-up tray things, like the windows 10 reminder.

The update you removed was likely: KB3035583 - see if it is still there?

W7 was much easier to use than either W8 or W10. This laptop came with W8 loaded and it was so rubbish I felt that W10 could only be better. It is a bit of an improvement but not much.

The easiest way to stop Windows 10 upgrade is to go into the Windows Update application, then select Change Settings, then set it as "Never check for updates" (this is for Windows 7, the wording may be different in Windows 8).

Then it will never upgrade to Windows 10.

Every so often (weekly?) it will then be worth going in to Windows Update and press "Check for Updates" to see what Windows updates are available.

You can choose to deselect the one to update to Windows 10 but install the rest.
