The combination of multiples of seven seems the most likely reason.

Very much doubt it Ken as it is within the rule and regs. Buyer beware as always.
True Mamy, but same can be said for horse racing yet bookies often pay out as a goodwill gesture when something 'out of the ordinary' happens. Keeps the punters happy and, more importantly, coming back for more. Pretty sure Camelot could afford it.
More people matched 5 balls this Wednesday than matched 4 last Wednesday!

Camelot can't change the payouts because to do so would be illegal.
i got 3 numbers and get 25 quid, yet 5 numbers one off getting the jackpot you get 15 quid wrong that
at least dick turpin wore a mask.
Can't you just erase one of your five winning numbers and say it was put in the laundry by mistake?
Buenchico

The formula has to be changed.

On saturday 5 balls would have won £1,896. Wednesday it was £15.
People just don't expect that even if thats the rules.
Surely it would be fairer to have a payout like this:
If you win 5 balls then you should also get the payout for 4 balls and 3 balls as technically you have won those too?
I don't understand this because if you had 5 you also matched 4 and 3 so why not £91
snap Mrs Overall. This is what is confusing me too.
The idea grasscarp and I propose means that you could never have someone with 5 winning balls receiving less money than someone with 4 or even 3 winning balls
I've only got two balls - that I know of.
DTC a couple of years ago my young grandson wanted to come outside in the middle of winter to play "Noballs"
