You are assuming they can read.

Yes, but even If these services are no use to you, you might have a friend or relation that these might be able to help.
You are assuming they can read.
I know somebody who lives in a first-floor apartment (posh flat!) who DOES have an appointed lawn/garden area of their own....
The most important bit here is they are paid to deliver, not think.
I have one of those stickers on my letterbox that says that I don`t want any unsolicited mail. I can only come to the conclusion that the people who are dropping the flyers through my letterbox can`t read English.
I repeat, they are paid to deliver, not think.

When a postman delivering junk, we answered to the paymaster...a sign on the door was not a valid reason to just leave it.
I have a no uninvited traders notice on my door. Knock on the door, it was jehovahs, or mormans or something. I pointed to the notice and said can you not read? He said he couldn't. He had a book that he tried to show me. I asked him if you can't read why have a book, he replied he only looked at the pictures.
He also said he was not a trader. I replied you are trading in religion.
I don't mind leaflets at all , at least they're being pro active , they'd be slated if they didn't work by the same people .
Cold callers are a different kettle of fish , I have elderly , infirm neighbours and even though they have the no cold caller signs they still rap on their doors , it unsettles them , that's not right at all .
