Hi

Does anyone know if a restraining order that was issued in Spain is enforceable in the UK?

Also if you have a restraining order against someone and they come near you is it the responsibility of the person who the restraining order is against that has to act on it? For example if your sat in a cafe who's responsibility is it to leave?

Any advice gratefully received

I do not see how a restraining order issued in Spain would have any effect in the UK.
The person who the order applies to is the one who has to abide by it. They should not come near you if that is what the order says. But as I said I do not see how an order issued in another country would apply here , just as an order issued here would not have an effect in another country.
i wuld hope that a pragmatic approach would take place. if you walked into a place where yje person who youhad an order against, i. would think it would be best for you to leave
If it is a Spanish legal question you may get a better answer asking on a Spanish website but I can't see it applying elsewhere. But best check in case you get into trouble when you return.

Normally I'd think that the one who has the order against them should move but that'd imply the one with the order could follow the other around and cause problems, so be aware I'm no legal expert and simply expressing an opinion.

Anyway it's a bit of a strong order if someone in Spain can say you can't be as near as the UK to them.
I would ask a lawyer sam. I think you can get a free initial consultation.
