where is the best place to get old photos restored, and approx how much does it cost. I hve a photo of my daughters great grandparents wedding i would like restoring

A local photographer would probably be able to help. OH took an old, battered school photo to one here who made copies after touching up the damage digitally. I'm sorry, I can't remember how much it cost

I have digitally restored a few old pics with adobe Photoshop, it isn't difficult to achieve a good restoration, I'd does however depend on the missing detail of the pic and the quality of the original.

I've done the same, including big wedding photos. Is there a local camera club who could advise you about who does the best job in your town?

There is a site called rootschat which has a section on photo restoration. There are some v enthusiastic people on there who will do an electronic restoration just for grateful thanks. Worth a try before you spend money.

Yes a very good site, send them a photo and their number of enthusiasts will have a go at it, one just needs to pick out the best results.

Some will even colour them in sensitive colours etc. not to vivid if you understand.
