I want to go to Spain for a holiday but not on my own it feels safer somehow if you know someone it's fine people telling you it's ok but everyone is so confident my daughter tells me to go but she wouldn't she won't go to the shops on her own there must be more older ladies that would love to go if they had someone to go with

Have a look at Riviera holidays. Not cheap but they do lots of tours to different places including Spain.
I went with them to Granada, Cordoba and Sevilla last year as a single woman and felt quite happy and comfortable. There were other single women on the tour, and everyone was very friendly.
Everything was organised and you would never feel uncomfortable.
