I'm not usually bothered by people swearing on TV, but CC saying f*** in almost every sentence put me right off her. Anyone agree?
Imagine her family saying ooh Charlotte's on telly tonight, settling down and hearing her swear like that. It was horrible, and the men seemed to swear more than usual to keep up with her.

You have got it right, though, guess. I don't like swearing, male or female, but I don't think it's an indicator of intelligence, of which Church seems to have a good deal.
"Your Mum"...

...as the show was retitled after a Twitter poll, which I'm now calling a Twoll
It isn't at all, Jno is it? It just seems to be used by all now.... and yes, it's just another word but for me it detracts from what the person is saying and I can't help but find it a little coarse.....x

Baldric.....I'm an expert! It can be done, believe me.......☺
Bit insensitive there DTC,suggest you read up about Tourette's and Autism as you haven't really got a clue about it,spend a week with me and my Grandson and you might have a better understanding.!!Not a subject for throwaway humour.
My old Mum would have had just the word for this sweary mary....common.

"you can take the girl out of the Valleys, but you can never take the Valleys out of the girl"

Does that mean if you live in the Valleys you are, by definition, common?
Not just Charlotte, though, is it? Everybody's darlin' Adele has a real potty mouth on her and the only time she's not swearing is when she's warbling. There are others, too numerous to mention. As has already been pointed out, her family will have known what to expect so would not have been shocked by the swearing.
come off it, unsureme...pathetic remark
I think that swearing shows a paucity of ability with language. I don't swear as a general rule - I prefer to save such emphasis for situations which demand some strength. I have never, e.g., used the 'f'-word, but have changed it to ''FF-or goodness' sake'. and I can laugh at Father Ted and 'feck'.

I really think that it demeans people and I find it very unpleasant when it is thrust at me from the TV screen. Went off CC some time ago.
depends on the situation/context in my book.....like a lot of swearing in different languages - you can usually identify whether its offensive by the stress used in pronouncing the word.
DTC,No more pathetic than yours, don't be so arrogant, have some thought for people who suffer with this, you are so ignorant.
No need for constant use of the 'f' word imo !
charlotte church wasn't swearing on question time so perhaps she tailors her language to suit the audience?
Good point.
