Ppi Reclaim
7 Answers
Just wondered if any one could point me in the right direction. I have had countless loans and credit cards over the last 20 years and was thinking about looking in to claiming back PPI. I dont have the time to approach every financial institute i've used as i cant remember most of them. so was hoping someone could recommend a good/reputable company who could help me out. TIA

Sorry but I don't think you can get a company to do it unless you can tell them which companies you used.
You could make up a standard letter and send it to as many companies as you can think of, you will get a lot of 'sorry not us' letters but perhaps a few 'hits' as well.

No third party has any better chance of finding out who sold you PPI than you have yourself. Indeed, because of the Data Protection Act, it would probably be far harder (if not impossible) for them to do it than for you to do so.
You'll have to start digging out all of your old paperwork and then take it from there:

You are probably right, eddie. In my case my loans were either attached to my mortgage (eg for extension) or 0% credit card 'transfer funds to your bank ' offers so I suppose PPI didn't apply to those. If they had required PPi and I didn't think it was a good deal I'd have managed without the loan or shopped around for a better deal. I know some people felt obliged to take PPI as they were desperate for a loan but I've never understood how some loans were taken out without people realising there was PPi
