Clicking the 'connections' tab and then 'settings' for my current ISP (ntlfreedom), the 'dial-up settings' area does not contain a user name or password and the area is greyed out. I can access the internet ok, just wondered why this area contains no info? Looking at some of the old ISP settings still on my computer, they all have the username and password fields filled in and the fields are white.

It sounds as if you are now connecting via broadband which is essentially a LAN connection. NTL do not require a user or password for broadband connections as the will only allow you registered cable modem or set top box to talk to their servers.

Not connected by Broadband. 56k modem connection, and the computer definately dials a number for internet connection.
Very odd, sounds like you're going to have to bite the bullet and call NTL, best of luck.
