Are you thinking of leaving it parked at the social club until May ? because your Ins prob states that you keep it outside your house, on the drive or street, so IF it was stolen from the car park you'd have problems, esp as there's no tax on the vehicle.
if its on the street it needs to be taxed
If you go to the post office to set the DD up on new car the printed receipt will show the DD date.
If its collected by a scrap firm, they will tow it and give you a receipt to send to dvla to show you're no longer the owner.
