Why is Arthur's Seat so named?

Arthur's Seat has two possible reasons for naming... either it is the name of a local person named Arthur, who is associated (obviously) with the hill for some reason), or it is a corruption of 'Archer's Seat', as the site was used as a lookout point for early settlers.
