Just put mine in the post addressed to; Attn: Joanna George, Freepost RSBB-XRZT-ZTXE, The Conservatory Party Foundation, 30 Millbank, London. SW1P 4DP ......... what a waste of our £9 million!
EDDIE51, no way, its the waste of £9 million that infuriates me, and yes, I do want out of the EU!
Also, it should've read 'Conservative Party', typo error or predictive text, I'll let you decide!
"Do you lot that have sent the leaflets back intend to do the same with the actual 'Remain' post drops ? "
The issue is, Eddie, that this leaflet is not part of either campaign. It is a government publication. There are two criticisms of this:
1. Mr Cameron said he would suggest that the UK's best interests would lie outside the EU unless he could secure major reforms. It is plain, I would think even to him, that he achieved no such thing but here we have a leaflet promoting the government's stance whichis precisely opposite to that which he suggested would be the case.
2. By spending this money in support of the "Remain" side the government is breaking the spirit of the spending rules which dictate how much each side can spend during the official campaign (which does not begin until 24th May). No official spending is allowed until then and by producing this leaflet the government has given a £9m boost to the "Remain" side.
It is well known I am a fervent (almost rabid) "Brexiter". But I would feel just as aggrieved if this leaflet had been produced in support of the "Leave" argument.
