Trouble With W10
Me again, apologies!
Now have a message that keeps appearing on start up stating that a "part of Windows, the Group Policy Client Service" is not operating - or words to that effect. Any advice please ?? Tearing my hair out ! (Or what's left of it !)

This recommends an executable to fix issues but I can not vouch for it.

This error is has been associated with a failed windows update. Mine updated yesterday so it’s possible, the best thing to try is a System Restore to sometime prior to the error and then see if windows updates correctly but first it might be worth trying
Click on Search (Magnifying glass next to Windows start icon) enter cmd right click and choose Run as Administrator type: “netsh” then type: “winsock reset” you will then be asked to restart your computer
If these does not work it could require editing the system registry

You can only access the Group Policy Client Service and edit it if you have the Professional or Enterprise versions of Windows 10. To fix it you will have to use the Rest This PC and reinstall the operating system . You a few options in doing this one is where you keep all of your files and only repair Windows .
