Scratch Repair Cost?
I have managed to get a few scratches on the door of our new car, total area is about 2 & 1/2 inch by 8 inch, surface scratches only. Any idea what price places like 'dent away' would ask? Insurance will be £75 excess so is it cheaper to put it through as an accident claim or just pay up?

Bear in mind that Chipsaway and similar companies are 'franchises' so a lot depends on the abilities of the sprayer.
As hc4361 suggests I would not put it through the insurers because your premiums will go up even if you have a protected bonus.

Try Tcut first if there are no dents it might save you a bit of money. Recently we went to a local market town and parked in Morrisons car park, did a bit of shopping in the store, just at the check out our registration was read out over the tannoy, "please go to customer services". Someone in the car park had videoed a woman in a 4x4type vehicle backing out of the parking space next to our car and scraping both passenger door and rear door and driving off. He left his details with the store manager and reported it to the Police. Our car was surfaced scraped with white /silver paint. Good man for doing that I thought. I photographed the scrapes on my phone and we went to the Police station, and advised our Insurance, then took it to the authorised Honda body shop. The insurance cost for the woman's insurance (same company) was £750. MrAsk said he could have T cut that paint off. Our car is 2 years old and granted if it had been a more serious damage he would have been jumping up and down about old women driving big cars. Insurance is a rip off.
