Chappell stole ( sorry...moved to another account ) £1.5M from BHS just days before the company went into receivership. He has paid nearly all of it back now, after he was caught out.

You need eyes in the back of your neck when you are dealing with these bar stewards.

That's his problem - not really a valid reason for not repaying it. Still, it's only £50K after all ...

But how much more money has been siphoned from BHS over the years ? The previous owner, Green and his family took at least £250m out in the early years.

according to the lunch time business news, Dom Chappel has clocked up two bankruptcies already ( known when he bought BHS but he as the only bidder).
and when one commentator waggishly said well there is a discharged bank rupt standing for president in the USA, the other one quipped
well god I hope it isnt Dominic Chappell.....

( very current in the mid-seventies Slater Walker and the "unacceptable face of capitalism" )
