I have an 04 ford focus 1.8zetec petrol. when i slow down or stop the engine revs drop and the battery light comes on, sometimes it cuts out which i think is quite dangerous. Any ideas please.

if its an 04 it should still be under warranty(normally 3 years) take it back to dealer. even if you didn't purchase it new you should of got warranty transfered to your name when you brought car. it'll then be fixed for nothing.unless it has it done alot of miles. could just need cleaning out probably blocked up with carbon try the idle valve not sure were it is on focus though
