Malwarebytes keep mithering me to pay for it now that my "free trial has expired". I'm sure I opted for the free one when I first got it, but was it for a limited period only? I know I can't expect to get everything for nothing, but I haven't been asked to pay for Avast. Will I be ok with just Avast now?
I think you downloaded the free version but didn't untick the 'the try premium version for a month' box. You don't need to pay, but should keep the free version.
Avast will be your anti-virus programme. Malwarebytes tries to catch the stuff that isn't bad enough for anti-virus programmes to bother about but which cause you inconvenience.
Thanks all, but I defo unchecked box so I made sure I got free version., I've seen it mentioned on here enough times ;)
Well they keep telling me I'm "not protected"......the little tinkers ;)
Hi, when this happened to me I removed the program then reinstalled it making sure I unticked or ticked whatever was needed. Usually the free bit on this program is at the bottom of the page.
The main difference between the free and premium versions is that the premium runs constantly in the background to stop malware before it infects your pc. With the free version you have to manually run it to root out malware after you're infected.
Just continue to run it once a week and whenever you suspect an infection.
