elliemay, it didn't spoil it for me. I don't know the story, I have no intention of googling it, and I really hope that no one who does know the story will spoil the excellent programme for me and others equally ignorant.

A guy was on later last night in a "talk about" programme and whilst I too know the story he literally spoke in great detail about it so anybody watching would know the actual detail. No I watched it for about 10 mins and it truly bored me.
Mrs Bob is watching it along with The Durrells, Home Fires, Eastenders A word, Episodes of Hinterland she missed ( don't know how that happened ) Thicker than Water on schedual
The first episode was a bit hurried and sparse I thought.
Guitar playing holy roller and swimming instructor and attractive blonde holy roller get jiggy out of nowhere.
Still, I'll persevere, it'll maybe erase the memory of Jamesy bhoy in Stan Lee's Lucky Man.
Surely it doesn't really matter whether or not the actors/actresses playing lead roles in true stories resemble the people they portray? Only, i suppose, if they were famous world-wide. I thought that, as an opening episode, it carried enough intrigue to watch the second, and i do know the story.
