I cannot have a Satellite dish on my property due to the terms of the lease. The local cable company arent investing any money in extending the network (less than 100 metres). Is there any other way of receiving Sat TV (Sky sports!!!)
The terms of your lease probably state that you can't have a satellite dish on the exterior of your building, there is no reason why you can't put it indoors.Check with the installers for suitability of reception.Have you got a garden,it could go there as a freestanding dish or in the attic.
unless technology has advanced dramatically since I did my Satellite TV installers qualification you cannot put a Sat dish in the attic - there is no line of sight to the satellite.
line of sight? are you saying sat dishes don't work in cloudy conditions? i presume you're trying to mean that the roof may insulate the signal - agree with archbishop, you should check whether it's possible to have one in the loft
I think a roof with its tiles and various other coverings would give up a little more resistance than water vapour. Got the whole hog and put it in the basement :)
Hi Pezza....Placing a dish in the loft or behind glass will not work....my dish is mounted in the garden on my shed or before i went to digital it was mounted on a tree...are there any sturdy trees in the garden it worked great for me or drive a pole into the grass and mount the dish on that i think the lease should allow these options as you are not doing any damage to the property by mounting a dish the house....sat tv is a pain for me as there are loads of trees in the path or the satellite so i had to find sweet spots in the garden....Good luck
