and the point to the is to answer ppl questions not to take the **** out of ppl's errors.

For the majority of people on here, the ability to edit a post (Q or A) would indeed be a boon and would be well respected. Unfortunately you only have to look on here most weekends to see there are some who are only intent on stirring up trouble. The chance to edit a post would only play into their hands since an initially offensive post could stir things up and then later be edited into an innocuous post. I think we can all live with the odd typos. Not so sure though about the new txt spk.
