Clouds

Has anyone taken the time to go outside and look skywards today? It's a beautiful day here in north Wiltshire. There are clouds, but they're very high and wispy, some of them have fascinating shapes, I think they're Cirrus clouds, althought I'm no expert.

Cirrus fibratus wiltsman otherwise known as Mare's Tails. The sky in N Wales had a lovely formation of them this morning whilst we were gardening. " She who must be obeyed" and I actually sat and talked about them as being a sign of good weather for a few days at least, and I threw in the comment 'my Mother's father called them Mares Tails'.

Aww that's nice, everyone was right. One wrote it, the other was first to record it. And I was the latest to post it here ;-)
Here we don't seem to have specific clouds as such. Difficult to tell if there are none, or all over. I think the latter, but it must be a thin layer as the sun shines though well enough.

Thank you for all your replies. As I watched the setting sun last night, I noticed a halo around it. It wasn't a full circle as it only showed up against the actual cirrus clouds which were fragmented.
